Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Due to expansion and growth, a manufacturer of advanced complex components to the aerospace, defence and energy sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. An experienced Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for developing processes, driving continuous improvement and candidates are sought with experience working in a highly regulated environment with a good understanding of composites.


Commutable from: Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, Bolton, Manchester, Rochdale.

Salary: £40,000 - £ 50,000 p.a. + benefits

Suitable for: Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer.


The Role

Work closely within the team to maintain consistency in terms of rate production across the projects within the business.
Drive continuous improvement across the plant.
Facilitate complex problem identification, containment and resolution.
Develop and support project wide process manufacturing documentation for production activities.
MRP systems to create engineering routines and methods.
Assist in the development and facilitation of Process FMEA’s and help maintain risk management policies and programs.
Support the design change management process by reviewing and approving engineering orders and drawings for technical requirements and process adherence.
Support Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
Report results from product and process yield metrics to engineering and senior management to encourage design / industrialisation for manufacturability and quality.


The Person

Experience required in a high volume, complex precision manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience.
Experience in a fast paced production/manufacturing engineering environment.
Experience of composites manufacturing methods, including defining tooling requirements.
Experience in developing robust engineering controls and working in volume manufacturing.
Experience of FMEA, Metrology, Validation and Control Plans.
